Both pools have poolside activities throughout the day, so be sure to check your activities calendar when you check in to see what activities are running and when. If you are looking to secure a Savanna View Villa, the animals you will see will vary depending on where your room is located within the resort. At Kidani Village, you can see the animals that roam on the Pembe Savanna and Sunset Savanna, and at Jambo House, you can see the animals that roam on the Sunset Savanna, Arusha Savanna, and Uzima Savanna.
Jambo House are also entitled to use the amenities at Kidani Village.
Savannah-facing rooms overlook animal grazing areas. Plus, Sanaa also features Mobile Dine Check-In, meaning you’ll check-in using the My Disney Experience app rather than going to the host stand. Deluxe Studio - Savanna View
Something tells me this is not the only such spot hidden down random hallways at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Even setting this aside (which is an odd, arbitrary thing to do), Animal Kingdom Lodge would rank near the top of Walt Disney World’s resorts. This is thanks to the rich theming throughout Jambo House. Animal Kingdom Lodge is one part stunning design crafted by the Imagineers and one part authentic pieces on display, including the largest African art collection in the United States. In a resort where every functional design element also manages to reinforce theme, that’s important. Jambo House’s rooms really offer the best of both words, in my estimation.

We’ve never had a bad view at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Due to the way the resort is laid out, the vast majority of rooms offer a savanna view. We’ve done the savanna view once, and received a pool view 2 other times we’ve stayed at Jambo House. Due to the way the lodge is laid out, maybe around 10% of rooms are going to have a parking lot (or similar) view. If you have a car, the easiest way to get to Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and other tourist destinations is to drive.

Jambo House has the only full-time, quick service option offered between the two buildings, The Mara. However, if you are staying at Kidani Village, you can also order some meals from the Maji Pool Bar and get Grab-and-Go options to take back to your room from Johari Treasures. Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House Review
Disney used to have a service where you were able to purchase items in the parks and then have them delivered to your resort’s gift shop. However, that service has been unavailable for several years now. Even though the front desk is there to assist guests, especially with checking in and checking out, all Disney World Resort guests are encouraged to check-in online or by using MDE. You can choose from studios, villas, and even rooms with Club-Level Service.

If you want to grab a beverage to drink by the pool or while you’re hanging at the resort, you may want to try the outdoor bar. Jambo House shares a lobby with Animal Kingdom Lodge. Deluxe Studio - Standard View
I’m sure there’s some deep-cut backstory explaining the significance of these subtle thematic tweaks, but it’s probably not going to be obvious to the average guest. Now, being close to Magic Kingdom or Epcot is the “big deal” for most Walt Disney World guests. Those new offerings should tip the scale towards Animal Kingdom a bit more, especially until the “new attraction smell” of the rides in Pandora wears off.
The Hakuna Matata playground, with slides and other play structures, is near the pool area in the back of the resort. Animal Kingdom Lodge boasts three of Disney's highest-rated restaurants, and dining is a strength at this resort. Still, these are among the smallest rooms in Disney's Deluxe category. The Animal Kingdom Lodge fuses African tribal architecture with the style of East African national park lodges. Thatched-roof guest-room wings fan out from the lobby.
Because Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House, and Kidani Village are so close to each other, Disney provides an internal shuttle to transport guests between the resorts. The restaurant showcases an open kitchen, and a wood-burning grill and rotisserie fills the Resort lobby (located two floors up) with intoxicating aromas. The dining stations at Boma are under thatched roofs. Jiko is a Signature restaurant serving dinner that features a taste of Africa in an atmosphere shaped by traditions and customs. The design represents an abstract view of Africa, with twin wood-burning ovens as the restaurant’s icon.
Many members choose to walk their reservations to get these rooms. Don’t snooze on these DVC rooms because there are only 5 club-level studios and 5 club-level 1-bedrooms at AKV Jambo house. The standard view rooms at AKV Jambo House are the next room type to book up quickly, and savanna view rooms go last. AKV Jambo House is not as large as other DVC resorts so if you really love AKV Jambo House, you do need to own points here to get the most premium DVC rooms. The theming at Animal Kingdom Jambo House is some of the best in the Disney Vacation Club network. If you’re looking for a DVC golden gem, book a club-level concierge room at AKV Jambo House.

We’ve stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge a few times in different room categories–including both Disney Vacation Club Studio rooms and standard hotel rooms–so this review is long overdue.
